Front Brake Pad replacement
Replacing my 84's front brake pads this weekend. Any tips? What about replacing the self-locking nut at the top of the caliper? Chilton's suggests replacing it. Is that really necessary? TGIF :cheers:

I would. the nylon incerts can loose their ability to hold if they are used too often.
the other thing, you want to clean the slide bolt and greese it. makes the caliper less sticky.
if you have not selected a pad yet, I recommend EBC Greenstuff!!! :yesnod:

If you haven't changed fluid, now would be a good time. Make sure you remove the master cylinder cover before trying to compress the piston back into the caliper. Use disc brake quiet. Torque lugnuts to 100ftlbs. :seeya
