Just ordered new fuel injectors from Fuel Injector Connection for my 90 TPI. Any tips to make this swap easier would be welcomed. Also is it true that removing and plugging the vacumn lines from the fuel pressure regulator will raise the fuel pressure. THANKS Don

thanks for the business.. disconecting the vac line will raise the pressure about 3 psi. but only on low end.. when you floor an engine the vac is almost 0 so it will never go higher than the regulator is set for.
In other word if you have a 3 bar regulator non adjustable the vac line will take away pressure at low end because the injectors are pulsing at idle speed. as you increase rpm the injectors supply more fuel so the pressure goes up to accomodate.. you won't get 46 out of a 43.5 reg. why do you want more pressure anyway?

I had heard that a little more pressure would give you a little better spray, and by just disconnecting the hose why not?
the only problem with that Don is that you will actually use more fuel at low end than you need.. these newer tech injectors have optimum spray pattern at 39 psi.. 40 should be your idle rail pressure, so I would leave it alone at first, then record your performance, fuel mileage etc.. then try it disconected and see if there is any difference.. i bet your MPG goes down..

Well if you add more fuel through pressure, then the ECM is going to see this at the oxygen sensors and just shorten the injector pulse width. It will get you nothing at all except a slightly warmer fuel pump

true, but, only in closed loop. while the engine is in open loop it will be using a little more fuel than it needs.
