I just cleaned the MAF sensor on a 2003 gmc van and my check eng light is still on do I need to reset the computer or is the sensor just bad?? autoparts store checked it and said the MAF was the problem Im in Michigan and I would go out and try it but its only 15 out there right now, just seeing what I have to do tommorrow
un plug maf and see if it runs better. If it does, it may be the maf. Does your vehicle have relays that control maf? If it does, check relays too. JMO...

Did you disconnect the battery to reset the codes? If not, the error might continue to cause the light to stay on until some amount of 'drive cycles'.
If you did disconnect the battery (or have the codes reset) and the light is still on, suggest taking it back to the parts store and get them to re-read the codes, and this time write-down the code(s) and then re-ask your questions by providing the codes...
Pretty much as above - you need 50 ignition cycles or disconnecting and reconnecting the battery will clear the code or most OB2 Code Readers have a "clear code" function. With it running well and the temperature being what it is, I'd just go out and start it 50 times (once the heater is working of course).
