Anyone here running or thinking about installing full length headers on their 92 - 96? I'm batting around the idea, I currently have a set of shortie headers bolted to the stock cats. I saw a set of Hooker full length on eBay the other day. Thing is I still need to run CATS. From what I understand Random Technology has a set of universal slips on's that can be mounted on the end of a set full lenghts. I'm running the Flowmaster exhaust w/resonator. Would there be enough pipe to cut down so I could mount up the CATS just in front of the resonator? I would appreciate and comments or thoughts. Would a set of full headers make a significant difference in HP and/or torque?
Had the shorties and stock cats and went to Hooker long tubes, Car Sound High flow cats, Xpipe, no resonator and picked up 15hp/15Torque. You will also knock some weight off. I would go with a 3" set up all the way back to the flowmaster.
I've heard that you can in fact connect the random cats to long tubes without any troubles. Myself I replaced the exhaust on my car and picked up 23 hp and 32 torque, that consisted of Hooker long headers, custom x-pipe, and flowmasters. The car has no emmisions provisions. Also note that I already had a cam and such. It's hard to guess what an exhaust will do for you, but in my case it was worth every penny.
