'95 replacement tranny reluctant shift...electronically controlled?
So I fried out my 4L60E and bought one from a Vette junkyard... swapped it in, no worries. Drives mostly normally.
But then I noticed that this replacement tranny is more reluctant to downshift than the old one... And upshifts earlier unless I'm really on the gas.
I thought the computer ran all of that, but yet, here I am with this lazy tranny. Could it be an electrical connector problem/malfunction or some module inside the tranny?
Mine is freshly rebuilt, by me, and the 1-2 upshift does seem early under light throttle but it was always that way.
Assuming your issues are confined to the transmission and not some outside source - consider removing the valve body and giving it a good cleaning. While you have it apart the solenoids can all be ohm checked and the valves, bores, and springs can be inspected for damage. There is also the option of installing a shift kit at that time.
