Default underhood recondition recommendations

I am ready to yank my engine and while it's being re-done, I want to clean up the engine bay. I wanna clean and repaint. What is everyone's recommedations for underside of hood, frame..etc..

If you can find it, GM recoditioning paint. Some dealers may have it but may not sell it to the general public. Last time I purchased it I had to buy a case, which is 4 gallons. Great stuff mix throughly then pray on. Can be brushed on too.

nothing special - you can use krylon semi-flat black. it's a dead ringer for the factory blackout. i used it on my 69, 85, and 90 corvettes for underhood blackout, details, and chassis black. check online - i thought i read that you can buy it in quarts vs rattle cans. for production, i'd bet the general used the cheapest semi-flat black lacquer that was available.
