Default Fast Idle after replacing IAC Pigtail Connection

I replaced the Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve connection because the plastic clip broke off when changing the hose clamps. I bought a replacement connector from Corvette Central, which required assembly and did not seem to hold up with the connections. Then I bought an AC Delco replacement from GM ($45 vs. the $5 Corvette Central garbage). Using the Service Maunal I matched the ECM 4 different colored wires to the 4 (A,B,C,D) connectors on the IAC connector.

The Service Manual identifies the connections as follows:
D - 441 LT BLU/WHT
C - 442 LT BLU/BLK
B - 443 LT GRN/WHT
A - 444 LT GRN/BLK

I had trouble identifying the difference between LT GRN/WHT and LT BLU/WHT. (I assume this means Light Green/White and Light Blue/White)? However, the blue and the green look the same color,
leaving me to guess which was right.

Well, once all the connections were done, the engine idle varies between 1100 and 1700 RPM. I have tried switching the wires to the different connectors, but can not get the idle speed down to the usual 600-700 RPM.

Any suggestions?

Did you perform the IAC reset procedure ? It's simple(but I can't remember), just do an advanced search on "IAC reset"

Thanks for the Reply. I just tried the IAC reset. It brought the idle to normal, but after running a few minutes the idle increases to 1000 rpm.

You should always state the year of your Vette when asking a question.
If you're working on a 93, it appears you are using incorrect information.
The pin outs should be.

A= circuit 441 Light Blue/White wire goes to pin A4 of the PCM
B= circuit 442 Light Blue/Black wire goes to pin A10 of the PCM
C= circuit 443 Light Green/White wire goes to pin A11 of the PCM
D= circuit 444 Light Green/Black wire goes to pin A5 of the PCM

Connector "A" at the PCM is the Gray 22 pin plug. With the negative battery terminal disconnected you can unplug the Gray connector and ohm the wires to the IAC plug to verify the correct wires.
