O.K TIME TO REPLACE THEM CAN I FIT 285/40/17 FRONT AND 315/35/17 REAR ON STOCK 9.5 WHEELS OR IT WILL BE UGLY IN THE BACK... ANY ISSUE WITH ABS OR ASR EVEN IF ALMOST ALWAYS *OFF*
I'm running that size combination on ZR1/ A mold wheels, 9.5" front and 11.5" rear. I think the rear rubber wouldn't work on a narrower than 11" rim. I'm running sumitomo tires, good for the money, but I can't get 10k miles our of the rears. Good luck.

you can fit 315s all the way around but on 9.5 inch wheels is another story. Not only would the tire look bad but strucure of the tire would comprimised

I think are misunderstanding what said. 315s will fit the car not the wheel. As far as what you are saying we are in full agreeance, I just used to different words. It doesnt even matter if it's a high g turn, the tire is just flat out wrong for that rim in a big way. 10.5 inches is the minimum I would run with a 315, but 11 would be much better

When I purchased my 88 it had 315's installed on the rear stock 88 rims, 9.5" so I left them on. I had no issues except cornering, took one good road trip each summer, usually to Carlisle, again with no problems. The tires lasted 4 summers and wore well. I wouldn't recommend to anyone to go that route, but each to his own as to what is safe or not!
