Default Weatherstrip Conditioner

Well, I did search the archives on this topic, but some questions were still left unanswered. Here goes...

Question is - which weatherstripping conditioner have you found to be most successful?

Products and information I've come across:
* Greases containing silicon - I've heard if you use greases with silicon in them, when the weatherstripping gets wet, some of the silicon will bleed and, depending on location, run over paint leaving a nasty film. The case is futher worsened if you ever have to paint that surface. Also, it's greasy???
* GM Dialectric Grease - does this stuff contain silicon? Apparently this is what Gordon Killebrew recommends, but he warns against using silicon (so I'm thinking this stuff doesn't contain silicon).
* GM Weatherstrip Lub #3634770 - this sounds great, but is pricey. Maybe it's worth it. Silicon???
* Meguiar's "Shine" - aparently a good product and popular too. It just wears off quickly and requires recoat more often. Silicon???
* BMW "Gummi Phflege" - another popular product. Silicon???

There's a lot more products available at http://www.meguiar.com (although they're not associated with Meguiar's - I came across this one by accident).

I'm just looking for a product that conditions and helps seal against leaks. Just like the rest of you, I'm sure.

Let the flood gates open.

Thanks,
A.J.

What's Krytox like?
What's it intended to be used for?
Once it's applied is it greasy?
Do you know if it has silicon in it or not?

I tried dielctric grease ONCE when I still had my 92 Z28. Never again. Even after wiping the excess off, my windows still smeared up after rolling them down and up for a good 3 months afterwards. It was pretty annoying.

I've been using "Prestone Silicone Lubricant"for about 4 years now. It comes in a yellow and silver spray can. It'll soak into the rubber and then just wipe off whatever excess there may be. If you get any on your paint, just wash it off, no big deal. We get temps below 0F sometimes in the winter and over 100F in the summer. I used it on my 95 Z28 for 3 years and the weather stripping looked the same when I sold it as the day I bought it. Used it on my wife's Sunfire for 2 years now and the weather-strip still looks new. I think it's between $2-$3 a can at Wal-Mart.

Eckler's pn A2524 is krytox
gm pn 3634770 is a conditioner but I think it contains silicone
In the past I've used 3m wet type silicone on a cloth and it works good
I found out about krytox while working at a pontiac dealer it was a fix for some of their cars bulletin 99-08-64
Krytox is supposed to be THE stuff.

This may sound a bit odd, but I use vegetable oil. I heard a long time ago that it is used in the colder parts of the country to keep doors from freezing shut in the winter. So I assume that it is relatively safe and I have not seen any damaging to mine.

Vegetable oil? Won't that actually wear down the rubber in the seals?
