Default Hood stuck

I was hearing some rattling noise from the passenger side of the hood for a while now, when i popped the hood i noticed that the plate on the hood attached to the pin and spring had been jarred 1/8 of an inch or so toward the drivers side. i taped it back into place and tightened the bolts holding it to the hood. as i closed the hood i noticed it was a little tighter as i had to push it down with my hand after i dropped the hood from about 10 inches, but i heard it latch. no more rattles, but now when i pull on the hood release the passenger side only pops up about a quarter of the way and stops. drivers side is fine. any ideas how to get it open.

there is a tool you can buy, from like mamo, ecklers, c.c whatever, or I think you should be able to go by the wiper and hook a string or something around it , and pull it over so it releases. Some people put zip ties on the latches and let them stick out by the windshield cowl, so you can pull them when it sticks. go look at the thread about tips and hints, there are pics

Have someone hold the release handle in the pulled position while you pull up on the offending corner, you may need to work it up and down, good luck.

If that doesn't work, remove your tire and your inner fender wells
and with a long screw driver or something slide it down towards the latch and try to push it towards the engine.
There were some pictures on here (try search for stuck hood) to give you an idea what you are trying to do as you're going in blind

The pass. side is a PIA, drivers side much easier, I know
Good Luck

You also might want to be parked on a level surface. Sometimes mine won't release both sides if the car is on a driveway.
