flushing the cooling system:
the Helm book references two coolant air bleeders. i've found one on the thermostat neck but can't seem to locate the other.
also, the book says to remove both knock sensors AND coolant drain plugs.
i've got both of the knock sensors out but can't find the drian plugs.
does anyone have an idea as to were these mystery screws are located?
much obliged,
kevin
Re: cooling :air bleed valve and drain plug? (sebring)
The second bleed valve is on the left side of the motor on the lower front corner of the throttle body. When you remove the knock sensors, that will drain coolant out of the block; they serve as the drain plugs..
Re: cooling :air bleed valve and drain plug? (sebring)
The radiator has a drain plug below the radiator hose on the passenger side. Take off the small radiator hose that runs from the radiator resevour to the top of the radiator on the passenger side when you fill the motor. Fill until anti freeze runs out. Put the hose on it and tighten the clamp. Then keep filling until the air bleed has fluid coming out of it. Close it and fill the resevour.
I have had air in the system even when the air bleed was running fluid.

i think you're right my friend. i've turned that car upside down looking for that other bleeder. i can only find a freeze hose to the throttle body. thanks for the reassurance.
