So I replaced my stock throttle body with a BBK that was supposed to be a direct replacement for the factory throttle body. The problem is the plastic (crap, just had a brain fart and can't think of the name of the thing now).... the linkage between the throttle body and the MAF sensor anyway doesn't fit on the throttle body side.
Has anyone else had this problem? Can I get a part off of a later model or something to correct it? I just can't see a company like BBK doing this without some sort of simple solution, but they haven't replied to my email.
Yeah - mine was a bear to make fit also. Takes patience. Lots of patience..
Watch the attachment of the TPS switch as well - the screw in the end of the throttle shaft can hit the end of the TPS shaft/arm retainer and cause binding. The bent "arm" or "finger" on the TPS can also rub on the side of the TB housing and cause the TPS to stick. Depends on the brand of TPS you are using, I've had some that simply would not work and some that are just fine.
I tried boiling water to soften and stretch it......just didn't work. I ended up buying the Power coupler advertised thru Mid America. It fit without problems. You will have to get bigger screw band.

I boiled that thing forever and can't stretch it and I can't find the power coupler on Mid America's website, you couldn't direct me towards it, could you? I called them and they didn't know anything about the part, you don't know the part #, do you? Thanks

i dont have one but everybody seems to have the same problem. They usually dip it in very hot water or use a heat gun and stretch it on.
Same here ; available stretch when heated seems dependent on age.
I got my '90 to fit but not my '89.
Worst case you can file the lip off the BBK mount so it is the same as the stock one (no lip )
