So I didn't realize it was a problem seeing the SYS light come on every 10 seconds or whatever on the LCD dash display. I assumed it was just the computer sending info to my dash or something. Then I saw a post about it here and that it's usually the battery or aftermarket radio. I have an aftermarket radio and searched to find that I can install resistors on two wires and it fixes the prob. I pulled out my radio and it had a dimmer/illumination wire on the aftermarket harness. I searched the forums to see what to hook this wire to but found nothing. Only info on where to install the resistors. So I decided to install the dimmer wire to the two wires where the resistors should go(purple w/white + gray w/black). I bent a paperclip in half and put each end in the appropriate slots of the harness connector and used a butt connector to attach to the dimmer wire. All seems to be good now. And when I place my thumb over the little light sensor under the driver's right side vent duct the LCD display dims properly(when the lights are on). Hope this can be useful to someone.
I have been needing to do this for a long time but because of lack of knowledge basically i could not understand how to do it. I even bought the resisters to figure it out on one of the posts diagrams but it is like german to me. I am usually a step by step and pictures guy but I do believe I can figure it out with all the info you posted Thanks alot I may need to come back and pick your brain when I get in there tomorrow.

Just wondering: Does your car have the auto climate control for the air conditioning? I read on another thread in here that if you have the auto a/c then you don't have to do the resistor thing. My car has the auto a/c buttons, so I decided to cut out the resistors and try it. Sure enough, it works! No SYS light, no problems.
No it has the good ol push button style with no digital read out. I am really hoping I can get out there today and see if I can finially get rid of it. When I did the radio and speaker change i made sure that i cut no wires only used adapters to plug into the factory wiring for installation of original equipment if wanting in the future. And to avoid any unneccesary problems like i dont know.. Flashing lights in the dash. Thanks again
