Default Windshield Wipers Problem

The windshield wipers work ok but seem to clatter all the time - they just can't seem to clean the windshield without a lot of hopping and clattering - I put a new blade on drivers side hoping it would quiet down and wipe the windshield cleanly but didn't help - is there a brand of wiper blades that work better - wipers themselves seem to work fine - no problems - small thing but when it is misting it's an agravation.
Thanks

With used blades I've used the trick of turning the blade around to eliminate chatter but with new blades I suspect you need new springs in the arms.

My brand new blade did that from day one I did not use them since I rarely drive in the rain. I turned it over and they work fine now.

I called the local dealer to get some prices on wiper blades for my 89. They said they had Trico, Anco, and AC-Delco.

I asked for the price of Delcos and were told they were $15 each, which is what I've heard here on the board. I then asked how much were the Trico's and Anco's figuring they would be cheaper. The dude told me they would be around $30 each since they are OEM. I laughed and told him I could get Trico exact fit for $8 at Advance.
