Haha, I got the EXACT same fitting for the fuel rail, the swivel 90º thingy. haha, kinda strange. You have a Hypertech chip in your car right? That's why you're at 42psi at WOT. I'm at about 48psi, because I have the stock chip, and I hear the stock chip bumps up pressure pretty high at WOT. Still though, at least I don't have to get a regulator to get it up that high. :D

The chip has nothing to do with controlling the fuel pressure. If your pressure is higher than stock, then the regulator is either messed up or somebody took it apart and glued a nickel in there or something.

Really? Hmm...I dunno, maybe someone uped the pressure, because the original owner had the fuel pump replaced and the regulator. (as seen in reciepts). At any rate, I'm actually happy about it, because 48psi is just about where I'd want it anyway. LOL
Re: [Paging Scorp] Your fuel rail sender unit... (TIMSPEED)
they might have modified the regulator. It's kind of a popular cheap mod to stick a penny or something behind the spring to up the pressure. If they had it all apart anyway, I can see that someone might do that.
That's cool though... saves you $50-$75 for an aftermarket regulator!
I haven't done any solid testing yet. The pressure seems to hang around 33.0psi while cruising on the highway at 75mph. Under hard decel it drops to 29.5psi. I haven't done any real WOT monitoring yet. The roads are too icy, and my tires are too bald.
When the car is off the pressure is at 38.5psi, then drops to about 34 at idle.
It seems typical for GM fuel pumps to go between 100-120k miles, so I am pretty much on borrowed time right now. I have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator that I have not yet installed that I got from Mojo here on the forum.
Well it is 50 out, and the roads are dry. I did a few WOT blasts on the highway this morning. 39psi solid each time. I rung out 2nd and 3rd gear completely. As soon as I put my foot in it, it would jump on up to 39.5 and then hold strong at 39.
