I have an 87 coupe, but I think the hood is a different year. Can anyone on here tell by looking at it what year it is? I am thinking maybe an 84, but not sure. I bought a upper front fender and it doesn't come close to fitting. I was told it should just bolt up, but wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Glenn
There are places for the upper wheel wells to mount, but it doesn't match up. I have a picture, but got to figure how to put it in a thread. I need to get some advice on these. Hate to get more that don't fit.
84 & 85 will not line up you need 86 to 89 .I had this problem and the people you have to deal with are dummer than a box of rocks.
Toledo pro, I also had to fight with on this matter.
'84 used a completely different hood based on wheel well mounts and the '84 only air ducts, also has '84-'86 R side scissor mount hood prop '85 uses the same wheel well mounts as '84, but has the later year structural support, uses R side scissor mount hood prop '86 uses the same wheel well mounts as '86-'96, uses '86-87 wheelwells, but has the later year structural support, uses R side scissor mount hood prop '87 uses the same wheel well mounts as '86-'96, uses '86-87 wheelwells, but has the later year structural support, uses L side cylinder mount hood prop '88 uses the same wheel well mounts as '86-'96, uses '88-96 wheelwells, has the later year structural support, uses L side cylinder mount hood prop '89-'96 uses the same wheel well mounts as '86-'96, uses '88-96 wheelwells, has the later year structural support, uses L side redesigned cylinder mount hood prop
'88+: 14104007 LH & 14104008 RH (these part #'s were changed maybe '94 to 10231873 LH & 10231874 RH)
If yours are none of the above post them and I'll convert them for you to correct model years. These I believe are the only casting #'s you should run across. Which do you have that are a "no fit"? You mention (1), what # is cast on the (1) that is a fit?
The upper hood is the part number for an 85-87 so I guess I bought the wrong one and it looks like I now have an 84 hood on my 87 coupe. This is really not an issue now, but I got to get a set of upper fenders for an 84. Thanks for all the help and I will probably sell the one I have for the 87. It also has the lug wrench with it.
