Alright i got my hot cam in and the car runs great!!
but when i pulled her back in the garage after some test driving i noticed i was dripping oil. and im pretty sure its at the oil pan where it meets up with the timing cover. so my question is, whats the easiest way to fix this? can i drop just the front of the oil pan and make sure the gasket is sitting flush and maybe add some permatech black to the gasket?
Not the easiest fix, but i had to put the timing cover gasket and oil seals in mine last week. Drop the oil pan and replace the gasket, the pan is held at all four corners with bolts. Starter and oil filter receptacle must be removed first to the get the pan out. Not fun , but the only way to make sure it is right. Good luck.
Did you use any sealer in the area where the pan meets the timing cover gasketwhen you installed the pan? Also the pan is easier to remove and install if you remove the passenger side diagonal brace from the frame.
