Default ASP underdrive pulleys

Hey guys. I just installed the underdrive pulley set from ASP on my 95. Which consists of the crank and alt. pulley. It says to use a gates belt K060640. I ordered the belt, checked the number on the belt to make sure it wasn't packaged wrong. But it just doesn't seem long enough. I have the tensioner up till it hits the waterpump housing. The belt is wrapped around the other pulleys and i'm trying to slip it over the alt. pulley. Its close, but seems like I need an eighth or quarter inch more belt for it to slip on. i tried the factory belt and that goes on with tensioner released all the way down. I double checked to make sure I'm installing it right. Anybody using these pulleys and if so am I missing something here? Thanks.

I got the March Pulley Set for my 91. It took me 4 trips to AutoZone to find the right belt. Definately, once you install the belt, make sure you have good clearance with the A/C on and off.

I ran into the same problem with my March pullys. I had to get a serpentine belt that was about 2" shorter than stock. Take the Gates belt #K060640 back and ask for one that's an 1/8' longer.

Thanks for the replies guys. Just a heads up for anybody wanting to use ASP pulleys. The gates belt that is called for in the instructions, K060640 didn't fit on my car. I had to use part no. K060645. That put the tensioner right between the minimum and maximum marks. Hopefully that will save someone a couple trips to the parts store.

I got the March power and amp series. The alternator is fine and I never had a problem. It worked good once I got the right belt on. Let me know if you are using the power and amps. If you are I'll get you a part number.

Just checked your profile. I've got a L98 so I can't help ya.
