Hey everyone. I'm pulling the differential out of my 95 6 speed. I'm ready to lower it out of the car. But i'm leaving the "batwing" cover on the car. Just the differential case is coming out. I'm at the point where i'm ready to break the 2 apart. Any good ideas how to get them seperated? I see that it is held together by some gasket sealer. Just can't seem to get the 2 apart. And also, what type of sealer does everyone recommend when I go to put this back together? Thanks

If you are sure all the bolts are off, use a putty knife or gasket scraper and tap it in between the batwing and the 3rd member. Then use a large screwdriver. I have used Right Stuff and never had problems. Make sure the sealing surfaces are spotless with brake clean or laquer thinner. Of course, make sure the 3rd member is supported with a jack before separating.

Thanks for the reply. It came right apart with the putty knife.

What kind of change are you doing? 3.33's to 4.11's? where did you get your new center section?

Yeah, I'm going from 3.45s to 4.10s. I got the center section from Exotic Muscle. Have the car all apart now. Should hopefully have the new section next week. I'm very excited to say the least.
