Default throttle response....

Mid America sells a "throttle perf. switch" for $99.99.... anyone use it? does it actually help?

also... on the same page as that is a MAT relocating kit.... $34.99, is that worth the money?

BowTieBlood, what year is your Vette?

If you have a slotted TPS just set the base idle to 450 RPM and then adjust the TPS to get about 0.74Vdc. Open the throttel and adjust to >4.5Vdc at WOT. Repeat these till both conditions are met.

If your TPS isn't slotted, I believe the ECM reads the lowest TPS value and sets min throttle so any offset would be ineffective.

The Throttle Switch is a waste of $$$.

I also have some swamp land to sell you if you think it is a worth while mod.

its a waste of money, why would you want to fool the computer like that, it wont give any hp increase.

Word from the wise, if you see it in a MAD or Ecklers catalog and its supposed to give you hp, then dont buy it.

MAT relocating is ok though

That's why I asked...

Thanks for the opinions guys, eliminates another "air foil" purhcase. So the MAT is a GOOD mod to do, or just is OK? I'm not actually buying either of these things yet, just wondering what everyone had experienced with them. The MAT sounds like a logical benifit to me, but not something that's gonna gain power.

I have one of those throttle performance switch gadgets on my car.
Bought from Ecklers, I think.
It's on my '91 Vette.

It's one of the best "hunnerd" dollars I ever wasted.

You can do the MAT relocation without buying the kit. Just cut the MAT plug wires and solder in two extensions. Buy a rubber grommet big enough to put the MAT sensor in. Drill a hole for the gromet in the plastic air intake duct, put in the gromet, insert the sensor and plug it in. You also need to plug up the original hole that the mat sensor came out of, I don't remember the exact size plug I used.
