Default does anyone have 4.10 gears with automatic

does anyone have 4.10 gears with a automatic, specifically a 700r4. need to know how it does when it hits overdrive in the quarter mile. does it bog down or does it still pull very good? also how does it do in first, does it blow the tires off it or does it hook good? i know tires have a lot to do with that but generally how does it do?

I run 4.30s in my bracket car with a 4L60e. I go through the traps at 6400 in 3rd gear. Car launches hard (1.42 50') but I'm running slicks. In my opinion, if you are hitting overdrive in the quarter, you've got too much gearing. The 3-4 clutchpack will not last.

im not hitting overdrive yet with my 3.54 gear, when i go threw the trap im at about 6000 rpm. im thinking with street tires and spraying out of the hole (thats what im doing now) that im going to spin the tire even more causing the rpms to be alot more at the other end. ok thanks for the info looks like that might be to much gear. i would use slicks but i really dont go to the track enough to justify the cost. thanks again

I used to run 3.73's when the car was a street/strip car and that was a good combination for me. Why not spray after 2nd gear instead if during the launch if you're concerned about spinning.

i was doing that but i picked up 3.5 tenths by spraying out of the hole. i was thinking about the 3.73s those would probably be perfect for me. thanks

What are your times? N/A vs spray? Juice from launch vs after shift into 2nd? I am spraying once I hit 2nd and lifting between gear change into 3rd. I went 11.42 @ 120. I always wonderd how it would go right from the launch.

my times when i hit the nos in 2nd are 12.30s and when i hit it out of the hole 12.0s at 122 mph so i see the mph and looks like im spinning so a 4.10 gear im thinking will make that even worse.

Your mph looks good. Did it increase much when you hit the juice right off the line? What is you 60' time? That should tell you if you are spinning. Unless your bogging.

I ran 4.10 with the Lt1 and they worked great, but never hit OD. That however wasn't the same when I put 4.88 in the car. Maybe I should of used OD. This was a bit to much for the stock bottom end.

A little off the topic, but what kind of rear spoiler is that. I haven't seen any like that before. Almost looks like a C5 type. Subtle, but cool

Thanks, this was a body kit sold by Mid America Corvettes about 12-15 years old. It utilizes c5 lights and an integrated rear spoiler. For some reason, the pictures shows what could be interpreted as a perfect seam where the spoiler meets the bumper, but in actuality it is all 1 piece. I don't think Mid America markets this bumper any longer. Also sorry to be off topic. Willie
