160 STAT

After installing a 160 thermostat, how do I reprogram my fan without a Hypertech programmer. I have a 1994 LT1.

well you cant without something to plug into your computer, not that i know of anyway. of course you could wire the thing to come on all the time, but you dont want to do that

You might find a speed shop that will do it for you without buying the unit :yesnod:

I installed a 160 stat...and didn't do anything. engine temp went down, so i was happy. Might have been my original 180 stat was stuck.

You can turn the fans on with a manual switch.

That is the setup I have.
Just a plain old toggle switch to ground the fan relays.

I also have this. Doesn't do much when at speed or with a/c on (because both fans are on already). But when sitting in traffic and it's not a/c weather, it helps a lot. If the temp is sitting at 220 (second fan doesn't come on till 228) and I hit the switch the temp drop to 195-200. Also good when at the track.
