If you have a drive line shop anywhere near you have a new shaft made up. IF you purchase a used shaft, install new joints & yoke it will cost as much or more than a new unit.
i have new u-joints (the ones i was going to replace) ...
i think i will get a used OEM one ...maybe from a member here ??? ebay ...?
since the new ones are rebuilt oem units too
What do you need for a drive-shaft? A D36 shaft or a D44 shaft? I'm sure I've got a D36 shaft that I'd sell for $45 plus the shipping. If you need a D44 shaft I can't help you. Which end of the drive-shaft yoke failed? Transmission or rear at the differential. If it was the rear at the differential you need to check the pinion flange closely and confirm it's OK. You could do that with one of the new u-joints you've already got. While you're at it buy new straps and bolts for the u-joint attatching to the pinion flange. I can do it all if you're interested.

L98 RIP

DRIVESHAFT RIP
in the order im going .....Differential death is soon
I want to be a tire torture machine only
You do break alot
Your rear end will be fine, I think that your recent failure was a part failure and not a driver or power issue. While it is up I would just inspect your halfshaft u-joints to be safe, a halfshaft can really tear things up if it lets go under hard acceleration.

I had a custom 3" strong driveshaft made up for my C3 and it was about $300 with spicer joints and balanced...DDBS
