Default LT 4 MSD CAP and ROTOR

Anyone just replace their cap and rotor on their LT-4/1 instead of purchasing the entire distributor. MSD has a cap and rotor for $139. My Opti only has
20k mile on it and when I tear into it if it looks like the cap and rotor are bad I am leaning this way to save $300. Thoughts

Although, you do mention Opti.

I'd think with only 20K your opti should be plenty good, unless it has been damaged in some way. A cap and rotor should be fine.

did a cap & rotor @ 110k, it's got 140k on it now.

You should be fine.

If the engines out, take the cap off and take a look at the condition.

thanks, the engine is in but I have some room to work with, will begin next week. The H20 pump seems to be leeking in the front, but have not gotten to it.
