There is a member that does kits
Around $5000 for a 9" if I remember correctly but I don't remember the name of the member. Once the search is back a "solid rear" search should get you there

Found it

Any "solid-axle" install requires "serious thought" and conversations with "serious chassis builders"! A serious "chassis builder" should be able to supply you with prior installs and I would speak to "several previous" customers! You want to "inspect" a few of the builds also!

"serious thought" - "serious chassis builders"!!!!

A 5K install that "doesn't work" can cost maybe that + to correct!!

$5k in parts is less than the surgeon charges to drill the hole in your head and suck out half your brain before you do this.

And now for something completely different...

What possible purpose would such a swap serve? Drag racing, maybe?

Did you read the first link I posted?
People with serious Hp are breaking D44's on the strip especially with manual cars and sticky tires.

Some light reading

Carrolls Rods and Racecraft makes a kit for this purpose. IMO its the best out there!! There are a few people on here who have it. Mackeyred 96, Insanaty? Tensecvet? (not sure if names are spelled correct).
But, as posted earlier, make sure you get a professional chassis builder to do this. Ill go even further and say do a search and check out reputations and how well they stand behind their work. Ask for references from people who have actually used their product before laying down that kind of money.
One other thing. Post this in the drag section and you may get more responses.!!
Good luck with your decision.

I went with a custom fabricator for my Strange,12 bolt. Paid much more than the bolt in systems on the forum, but have had no issues over the past 2 years. With the Dana 44 every year there were at least a couple incidences of broken somethings. Now I can just race and not worry about ending up in the wall. Willie

If your interested in the solid axle conversion please get in touch with me. I have several in the pipeline now and can provide you with names of those that have already recieved them and you can contact them directly if you like for reference.

The setups come with everything you will need to make a clean install into the car. They do not require a crossmember that NO other system offers on the market (crossmembers drastically reduce the clearance under these cars and will hit eveything; our setups do not need this), also our setup is the only FULLY adjustable 4link which is no different than a purpose built chassis car would be equipped with.

I have been running one coming up now on 3 seasons and have not had a single problem since I installed it. Before I was breaking the D44 about every few runs.

Best 60ft on my n/a 434 was 1.31 with the rear wheels breaking the beams! And those that have seen my car know its not just a shell, it still has a full interior, power everything, stereo etc.

These setup flat out work in these cars that truely do make an awesome drag car since they are already very well balanced.

Any questions please let me know.

Regards,

Guys,

Thanks for the IMs and calls about the setup. As a result, I thought I would post some photos of the setup and list some of the details outlining the benefits of the setups:

-Wishbone Locator - the absolute best way to positively locate a rear without binding, used in ALL purpose build chassis cars!!

-No crossmember required meaning no ground clearance issues. And you WILL have groundclearance issues if you drive your car on the street with a crossmember. As a result, that is why we designed our kits so there is NO crossmember required.

- Fully adjustable front and rear 4 link brackets - a must for racing!!

- Fully adjustable shock mounts - a must for racing!!

- The FIRST fully bolt-in C4 setup on the market.

- Stock brakes and wheels will work with our setup and brackets (included with every kit)

- Integrated anti-roll bar that keeps the car perfectly level on launches and when the car's front wheels are in the air ( watch signiture for illustration!!)

More information can be found by following the links in my signiture.
