Default Fuel Pump Question

I have a Holley GSS346 which is the same as the Walpro GSS307 fuel pump that came with the car when I bought it 2 years ago just laying around. I've got some free time, so will it be alright to install a high flow fuel pump on a car that only has headers and exhaust mods?

It would be fine but a waste of time. Also I remember reading something about storing a fuel pump in gas, as leaving it dry damages it. I don't remember the specifics though.

Edit, a used fuel pump that is. If that one is new it should be fine.

Might cause the fuel sock to rot and rust on the metal parts? I only know if you run your fuel pump with to little gasoline, it can burn it up by becoming overheated.

As for using a bigger fuel pump, I agree it would be wasteful. The injectors are only going to pump so much fuel no matter how fast the pump sucks it up. No benefits will be seen unless your fuel pump is just so old that it's slowly failing.

Yeah, I don't think new pumps have any storing issues.
