Default 84 Factory Cold Air Intake

I have a Corvette history book somewhere but i remember reading something about a cold air intake being developed for the 84 but was never finished, but their are supposedly holes marked where the it should run. I can't remember all the details about it but Id like to know more about it. I figure somebody has had to have figured it out.

Not sure about the '84, but the L98 sorta already has one. I would imagine you could make an intake tube similar to those found on old carb cars.
