Default Noob Questions

Hey all,

I just bought a 1996 LT4 and have come up with a few questions that weren't answered very clearly by searching.

1) It seems that there are several brands of skip shift eliminators out there (CAGS), what is the preferred brand. As I recall some will trip the check engine light on cars with OBDII.

2) What year did they start using the ZF6 tranny? Were they used from the time the 4+3 was replaced with a 6-speed?

3) Anyone know what the front / rear weight distribution in a C4 is?

4) Opinions on x-pipes / manufacturers of them?

Many thanks to those who answer. Remember, we were all noobs at one time!

Just disconnecting the CAGS plug does the job , the kit as I recall is only a plug to keep the dirt out

ZF6 behind L98 from '89

I recall 51% Front / 49% rear

3. 51%/49% is my recollection as well.

4. Nobody makes a 2.75" X-pipe that'll fit the tunnel. (There was a guy on here that talked about it for a while, but I don't believe he ever took delivery of a production run) You'll either have to go to a 3" system, or get something fabbed up custom.
