Power steering pump questions
Hi guys,
I've got a C3 so that's why you probably don't recognize me here!
I'm currently revamping my entire front end (and brakes on all four corners) and have a question regarding PS pumps.
My plan is this so far:
VBP Performance Plus front suspension kit:

and just added their Rack Attack steering kit:

I'm planning to eventually get a serpentine drive system on there as well! OEM or March or ??? Not sure yet, but I like how clean it looks under there with a single belt. Also eventually going to the hydroboost system as well. Just need to save up some more $$$$$ !!
At any rate, I'd like to upgrade the PS pump to a remote reservoir style since the stock one needs replacing anyway, and it's pretty difficult to get to the regular one where it is too. Bad place!
What years came with this system, and do you have any words of advice concerning the installation or maintenance of this system? Are the fittings different? Any known problems related to this versus the older system like I just took off?

Power Steering Pump
If your going to a hydroboost brake system eventually, find a power steering pump from an '86--'87 Buick Regal turbo, or an '86--'87 Grand National. These came from the factory with a hydroboost system for the brakes. Fitment might be a problem, but you sound like you would be up to the challenge.

Thanks! How is that system (V6) different from the Vette (V8) system? Is it remote also?
I like the idea of a system that is already selected to work together, but will it be up to moving a Vette with 17"- 255's around?
What kind of fitment issues?
I'm really not great at fabbing up stuff (except for electronics and test equipment!), that's why I like the idea of the systems I'm getting that are pretty much bolt-ons!
