rear wheel noise
I've got a grinding noise in my left rear. Have the half shaft and rear hub out but they appear to be ok. Is there anyway to check them. I thought as load as the noise was it would be obvious as to what was wrong.

I'm chasing it as well....we've come to the conclusion that it may be the Rear end bing sloppy.
New U-joints on the half shaft and new bearing.....while we were doing the bearing we noticed a bit too much play in that part of the shaft exiting the Dana 36..........It also is causing a vibration.

I had the same problem. Replacing all the half shaft U joints solved it. I had lots of vibration and a loud clanking noice coming from some where around the rearend. A local shop offered to do the work for around $600 to $700! i did it myself and only spent $16 for each of the 4 half shaft u Joints. Easy to do just very time consuming!
