cd player keeps tripping fuse

hi, i've posted questions here before and you guys always seem to have the right answer. my question is why does my aftermarket cd player keep tripping the fuse? It only started to happen after I got a new transmission put in. It also seems as though the wipers are connected to the same fuse.

After I installed a new tranny in my t/a, half the gauges didn't work and the power locks didn't work. I found out I pinched the orange power lead around around(near) the shifter and it was grounding out.

thanks, i'll check that out. Can i access that by just removing the center, around the shifter?

Well, on my t/a I had to remove the center console(which on the t/a is huge) to gain access to the shifter, so I could pull the tranny, when I reinstalled everything I pinched the power acces wire(which supplied power to several different sources) and shorted all the above mentioned out, I also pulled the tranny out of my 87 vette which I seem to remember was allot less hassle up top than the t/a, hope that helps.
