Default anyone ever see a built in airfoil in the bellow

I was putting in an airfoil that i had laying around on my 93 vette and when i took the rubber bellow off, it had some type of built in plastic airfoil that was made to fit in the rubber bellow. It looked like it butted up to throttle body when the bellow was attached. It said made in the USA on one side and API on the other. Anyone ever see this before?

To the OP, the pictures are not showing up. They are just red Xs. I have a similar piece that is built into my throttle body that resembles a air foil as well. I do not know if that is the piece you are referring to without pics. Ignore the rude comments.

Concerning your original questions. Yes I have seen the snap-in plastic air foil deal. It comes with one of the aftermarket air filter things. A cheap plastic box with a single K&N style filter should be in place of the stock air filter. A friends car had one on it and the plastic ring where the filter goes had collapsed and dirt could get in. I removed it and put a stock filter back on with an open element cover. When removing the bellows we seen this plastic air foil in there and removed it. It had silicone all over it and looked like it could get caught in the throttle blades causing it to stick open. Some of these aftermarket gizmo's are a real danger.

This kinda junk is good for OT.

Run a search on air foil to learn more about them.

I found what is likely the same airfoil in our 94...

Here's my post on the info and a link to the picture and some info from many other members regarding the non-value they provide (along with what I found too about them being bad).

If I remember correctly a few of the Corvette suppliers around used to carry an airfoil like that. Is it a black oval thats fits into the TB and the ducting? Try checking w/ Mid America, I think I used to see it in their catalog for years.

i just took mine out. It wouldn't let the hose fully seat on the TB. pretty sure it doesnt really do anything anyway...

works the same way as an airfoil in the tb does. I had one for my 93 I bought it from Carravaggio back in 98. Quality piece I stil have it but cant use it since I have a callaway tb with an integraded one.

Thank you every one. Yes thats it. I did remove it because the hose wouldnt set right on the tb. I did install the slp airfoil I had laying around from a previous vehicle
