I've finally purchased a mini ram for my 85 383. My exhaust system has TPIS LT headers, 3" front Y pipe, random tech cat and flow master40's mufflers. I have not replace the stock rear Y pipe. What I need to know is ....Is it necessary to up grade my rear Y pipe? Or should I leave it as is because it won't make much of a difference in terms of noticeable HP/TQ. Thanks!!
i was reading about that and won't you lose backpressure ????
maybe im just talkin' trash..but somebody who know more than me can chime in
and confirm...i might be wrong
well if you are pushing like 350-400 hp yes or it is a restriction, that is why they have sizes of inlets and outles of mufflers even, I would stay with 3in all the way through now if you have 3in in front. I think for loke 400hp you need 3in to flow it all out, plus you have long tubes, and now you will be pumping more air with the mini.
IMHO
