Default Blowing Bubbles

Got home last night after a 40 mile run to the nearest good place to eat and my Sled sounded like it was blowing bubbles under the hood, By the time I got my flash light out, it had stopped. It sounded like the radiator was blowing steam back into the overflow tank. Anybody ever heard this and know what is up with it? I hope its nothing serious, I have a 600 mile trip coming up.

I was hearing the same thing when I had a coolant leak at the water pump and the system was always a little low on coolant. Fixing the problems eliminated it.

You could have a stuck thermostat.

Yeah, it may be the thermo, it seemed like it stuck open the other day, the temp never got over 160 on one ride. I also have a small leak at the heater control valve, that may be it too. A couple of relatively cheap projects to do before the road trip.

Is burping an L98 thing or an LT1 thing? I have a late 85 L98 with iron heads. It doesnt have the surge tank of later C4s.

L98 and LT1 i guess the LT1 thermostat neck has a valve to auto burp
so its a L98 thing guessing by me,im not sure about the iron headed L98 ....
i think a reservoir tank its a must on any car .......i think yours was deleted ...
some other 85 member can confirm this ?
