Got home last night after a 40 mile run to the nearest good place to eat and my Sled sounded like it was blowing bubbles under the hood, By the time I got my flash light out, it had stopped. It sounded like the radiator was blowing steam back into the overflow tank. Anybody ever heard this and know what is up with it? I hope its nothing serious, I have a 600 mile trip coming up.
I was hearing the same thing when I had a coolant leak at the water pump and the system was always a little low on coolant. Fixing the problems eliminated it.
Yeah, it may be the thermo, it seemed like it stuck open the other day, the temp never got over 160 on one ride. I also have a small leak at the heater control valve, that may be it too. A couple of relatively cheap projects to do before the road trip.
i have this problem, you need to burp it
take the air trapped out of the cooling system
in my case it was not the thermostat because i was running with NO thermostat
at the time,i put one back and the problem persist
i need to burp it correctly i guess, but i hate this happening
let me know if you fix it an how
thanks !
L98 and LT1 i guess the LT1 thermostat neck has a valve to auto burp
so its a L98 thing guessing by me,im not sure about the iron headed L98 ....
i think a reservoir tank its a must on any car .......i think yours was deleted ...
