The SC models are "self contained" meaning there is no oil line coming from the engine. The other digits in the model number designate which compressor. There is a page on their site that shows the typical HP level that each compressor is capable of.
If you are going with a new kit, I would step to the P1 or D1 series. The P-600B is a smaller model, and most will find they want for more. P1, P1SC and D1 all do reverse rotation so no issues there, but the D1 will flow more air due to the impellor design. The volutes are all the same diameter, so no issues with installation.
Ive got a 93 hotcam'd LT headered corvette (6 speed).
I was looking at prochargers website and saw that there are some different models.
P600B, P1SC, D1SC, etc.
Whats the difference?
ANy models I should avoid?
I agree with the other people who post, and I would go with the D-1SC. The D-1SC does not have to be spun as hard to make the same amount of boost as the P-1SC and the smaller blowers. Since it doesn't have to be spun as hard, it ends up taking a larger blower pulley which means it will have better belt wrap. Bob
