I have already gutted the pump. I want to get this pully from midamerica. I know it requires a shorter belt. Does it bolt up directly or do I have to modify the alternator or other parts? Just curious. Thanks. I know people fabricate there own but I do not want to try it.

It's a direct bolt on. Once you remove the air pump and mounting bracket.

Thanks for the quick response! I heard people saying they had to weld parts to make it work or it would crack the alternator eventually!

I have had that delete bracket on my '86 for 2 years now with no trouble. Just make sure all of the pullies are in line when you tighten everything up. In other words follow the directions

What belt size did you use? Thanks for the information.

I may be wrong but the plastic pully looks like it would melt or it might fly off when high revving occurs. Do you have to baby the car or is this pully kit secure? I don't want my belt to fly off or something crack becasue of the cheap workmanship of this part. I saw Breathless metal version and they are way to high for a metal pully.

As far as belt size I had to measure for one. Because I installed a underdrive WP and Crank pulley at the same time.

The plastic pulley is fine if you just drive your car. If you race it I would run a metal pulley. JM.02

I don't race but I do run at WOT for fun and take off hard. I also rev the motor to give people a scare when they arnt paying attention. In lames terms, I drive the car hard but I don't drag, auto cross, or anything.
