I am going to put new plugs this week in my 87. I went with the AC Delco OE plugs. Is there a certain torque that I need to set them at? Or do you just fit them in nice and snug? Probably Not I'm guessing. Thanks
The torque spec is 7-15 Ft. lbs.....although personally I put 'em in "snug" by feel but I've done more than a few...I suspect most don't use a torque wrench on spark plugs

I just snug them in which i'm sure is probably around 10-15 ft lbs anyway.
With anti seize just a dab. Keep it away from electrode and porcelain. Getting sloppy with anti seize will cause misfire
Right! That would be depressing. If not done correctly and carefully, a little dab will screw ya.
Hey! I'm not trying to be mr. writingexpert, but the "it" at the end of your signature should be "it's". It's otherwise a very cool and very correct quote. It certainly is the truth. I've had my car since February 20, 2016. 2 days after driving it home from the previous owner's home, I went into the hospital for severe spine injury surgery which started a marathon of 17 emergency operations, my last one was last August. Spent the whole month in the hospital. I had four surgeries last year alone. What I'm gettin' at is, I haven't been able to drive my car. I drove it supervised along some straight country backroads. I've driven my car since purchase, about 75 miles. There was a short stretch where I was able to make things such that I can work on it a bit. Summer of 2018. It was Heaven. But then my "SI" Joints blew out. I've been unable to walk ever since. But I'm getting better at working with things and when the Virus is taken care of, I'll get more surgery to fix my "Si" Joints. But the thing is, I don't care! I got a Bright Red 1985 Corvette in my driveway! Honestly, such miracles have occurred in my life alongside the spine issues that sort of even things out. And one is, first, I can't believe I own my own home again, ie. I can't believe I have a Driveway. And then to sweeten the deal, I got my Gorgeous Vette parked in it. I can't believe any of it! I have every vertebrate in my spine except for the 2 up at my skull fused or fusing, along with my SI Joints, and more... a train wreck! But I'll be sitting on my porch with an iced tea and a Swisher Sweet thinking, "I'm one lucky little sonovabitch". is that Nuts, or what?! I'll be a passenger if it goes that way. It's fun to watch people scream "YaaaHooooo!!!" when they paste the peddle. Later! ~ John.
I can sympathize with your situation as I have had multiple back surgeries since 1993 after I injured myself at work in the Middle East. I have 5 crushed discs now and live in incredible pain every day of my life. Johns Hopkins Hospital started me using Morphine back in 1996 and I have been using it ever since just to be able to function fairly normally. They had me on close to 300 mg a day and I have brought myself down to 60 mg a day and just deal with the pain. Life sucks when you hurt 24/7.
The one thing that helps me "keep going" is the two Corvettes I have to play with. I just installed a new Holley Sniper Stealth 4150 on my 427 in the C3 and have been trying to stay active tinkering on it. Corvettes are good medicine for those who have ailments. I work on it as I 'Can" but hope to be on the highways soon with my new Fuel Injected Big Block in my 1968 C3.
I used to spend a lot of time overseas so when I came home I would tear into my C3. My Father-in-law asked me one day why I did that and I told him it was "Therapy". For you getting into your Corvette and blasting down a road will be "Therapy"! I hope and pray it happens again soon for you. Get better and then get out there and enjoy your favorite Corvette! If you need an incentive just have someone park your Corvette someplace where you can see it easily, every time I see my Corvette I want to drive it! If that is not possible get a big photograph and have it handy.
Good Luck my Friend and Stay healthy during this pandemic!
I don't have money to do major engine mods. But I've discovered Lots of ways to get more HP and Torque out of these L98's without having to tear into the engine. There's a little bit here, a little bit there, and some good sized chunks of HP & Torque to be found all around outside the guts of the engine. I'm going to compile a list of external mods, and see what kind of feedback I can get regarding the HP and Torque increases that might be realized with the individual Mods. Thinking about my ignition system, I suddenly had the thought that I should make sure my plugs were torqued correctly. When I bought the car, 2 of the plugs were "finger loose". I replaced all the plugs with E3 Plugs, which require no gap but I want to make sure the Torque is correct. Like I said, I believe every little tweak counts.
