Default 88 C4 auto transmission shifting problem

Hi guys!
I have a problem with auto tranny shifting. When I hit the kickdown and revs go up the tranny doesn't shift at the right time(at least I think so). It accelerates good but it doesn't shift before reaching the rev limiter and staying there about 1-2 seconds and then it shifts and same thing with next gear. Should it be shifting before the rev limiter?
I would make video but my engine is apart right now.
Maybe someone have any idea whats wrong with my car?

I have the same issue with my 88; hopefully someone can shed some light on this.

Have you tried adjusting TV cable at throttle body?

Adjustment is fairly simple, check any manual or look here in ech tips

What RPM is this occurring at. I don't believe your 88 has a rev limiter. At least not from the factory. The governor in the transmission determines shift points at wot. If it is shifting higher than 4500 rpm, the governor has been modified or is damaged.
It's under the round black cap on the side of the transmission.

1988 year vette and TH700R4 transmission. It's shifting at about 5000+rpm with when I hit the kickdown. When I'm just cruising it's shifting normally.
