Okay here we go again. I got my fuel pump fixed and now I am seeing severe slippage in the transmission. I checked the fluid level and it is perfect. Right now it will go into drive but not reverse. What kinda of damage and repair am I looking at?
If the trans is slipping, and the fluid level is correct, you may have a filter that has cracked, blocked, or leaking at the o-ring. The fact that the car moves in 1 direction, but not the other makes that unlikely.
Double check the linkage adjustment at the drivers side of the trans, near the pan rail.
If everything checks out, it is rebuild time. $1k-3K depending on how you rebuild it, what type of converter you buy, and what local labor rates are.
In my area $1500-$1800 installed is the going rate for a vette rebuild.
you can buy a good serviceable one at a wrecking yard or a forum member for about $500, but not this forum member. I don't have any extra transmissions.

Too bad I was not still in the biz. Garage is cleaned out though
