Your chip is not a good choice. You will get better performance from the stock GM chip.

High flow cat if you still have the cat. Anything to improve exhaust: headers, larger exhaust tube. Stock is 2-1/4 move up to 2-1/2".

1985 iron heads suck. Go for aftermarket aluminum heads......AFR or other good heads ($$$'s). Better intake, runners and plenum.

If you don't have the $'s for heads, then add 1.5 & 1.6 roller rockers...will add 5-10 HP.

Good tune up is always good. You can move up timing to 8-10 degrees, stock TPS setting is .54 volts....move this to .60.

Don't forget that you have a inline fuel filter (passanger side next to front wheel tucked into railing). I change mine every 10,000 miles or so.

Check out VADER86's web site, very good reading on improvements for the L98.

I'd say to get that chip out, but given that you've got a 160 and that hypercrap should have the lower fan settings, leave it for now.

But if you think its doing something for you other than keeping the engine cool....

Read through my site for the cheap upgrades, and then make some decisions for more major modifications. Set goals and a budget.

vader has a good web-site as he posted here.....I recommend looking at it.....I went through TPIS on my performance upgrades; they seem to know a little about the L98 applications and have parts others do not......the intake/heads on these cars are pretty weak by today's standards IMHO and if you have the budget and big performance improvements in mind you really need to focus there..
