Default StealthRam 398 - 10.59@129

Took my '85 to Etown for the Challenge today. First time to the track with the car. Pretty much no WOT tuning, just a WAG. Normally aspirated 398 - all motor on 275/45/17 MT drag radials

Here's a link to the car http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...-85-build.html

Ran this like the car was sitting in the other thread.

I'm excited.

Wonder why I had a 11.50 dial

First pass of the day was a 11.07 @ 122 and change 1.50 60 ft shifting 1st to 3rd.

Second was a 11.59@ ~83 - on the brakes hard, 1.54 60 ft

Nice run Paul. Great top end. Did you use the squeeze on that run?

But some people say the HSR doesn't work ; old skool low tech design!

That was all motor. No nitrous.

There's no roll bar in the car so I don't see myself going back to Etown anytime soon with this car. I'm bulding a '90 that's going to have a jungle gym in it (25.5 cert.).

This car has such a cool factor in that there's nothing to give away it's performance. Idles nice at 900 rpm. Power brakes work no problem. It's a super clean car - real nice interior, no guages, 17" wheels, stock shifter, AC, the whole bit. I just really don't want to put a bar in it. It's my history that as soon as I put a bar in, the car becomes a race car and not a street car.

Next time to the track will be to get a time slip with the nitrous.

The cam isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Ed Curtis from FlowTech Inductions helped out on this one. 109 lsa, idles at 60-65 kpa. The car does have a FAST XFI on it running true sequential with proper cylinder sequence/firing. Getting that right really helped the idle out. 60 lb injectors. 4000 stall Protorque 9" converter also helps out on the driveabilty.

Also need to give a big thanks to Mike Theroux from Mikesportingservice.com for the great work on the heads and intake.

Paul,
Very nice numbers out of the Stealthram. The SR cam is quite similar to what I run in my '87. It should be impressive with the spray.

What happened to the turbo car?

Aaron, turbo car is still in the works. I keep adding parts to the pile. Motor is assembled. Have a Forced Inductions 91x. ATI/Dedenbear cased 'glide. 2 Racegates, all the header materials, intercooler, 4"aluminum tubing, all sorts of other things. Still need shocks, parachute, convertor, heim joints for the rear, 'moly tubing, driveshaft, yokes, fuel/oil/water plumbing, data acc., BS3, AMS1000, among other things. It's all the $300-$400 parts, the nickles and dimes, that make the cost add up. At the beginning of the year I figured I had another $8000 to spend. I'd like to be shaking it down at the end of the year but it will probably be next spring.

Hope everythings well on your end

12:1 4.040 bore GM 4 bolt 1 piece rear main seal truck block, Eagle 3.875" stroke crank, Eagle 6" rods, Ross pistons - Calico coatings turbo top, anti fricton sides, Canfield heads ported to 215 cc - intake flows 317 @ .700" lift, ported StealthRam - heads flowed the number with intake attached, injectors rolled over for direct port dry nitrous, custom plenum with Accufab Lightning Monblade throttlebody, solid roller cam 242/250 @ .050" .672" gross intake lift .688" gross exhaust lift, Comp solid roller lifters with high pressure roller oiling, custom 3" stainless exhaust, Hooker 2151 headers, FAST XFI, 60 lb injectors, Walbro 340 pump feeding Bosch 044 pump

I saw that you were running 398 cubes, and I thought to myself, maybe my 421 will trap as high as you. Then I took a look at your combo above, and I quickly realized that you have one serious combination.

12.1 CR, and a roller cam too boot with close to .700 lift, wow!

129 mph is impressive!

Very impressive !! I tried to snag a set of canfield heads when they came up a while ago but I missed out. Serious combination must be a blast to drive !! Out of curiousity are you using a crank trigger or the fast dual sync for cam/crank input ?

MSD crank trigger with a MSD Pro Billet low profile crab cap crank trigger distributor with a hall effect sensor added for the cam sync.

Exactly! i'm tired of hearing it. HSR is not a bad intake!

Your times are as fast as my 150 shot 383 Stealth ram!! haha wow, good job. My buddy has a similar combination--406 miniram with a 242/242 solid roller. Runs high 10's at 126 or so in a Fbody. Glad to see the HSR being able to duplicate or surpass the miniram
