I just got my first Corvette yesterday, 1987. This car feels every bit as powerful as my Dad's 2007 (which he lets me drive too much ). It has Lingenfelter badging on the motor. I've been searching around and I can't seem to find a good place to read up on how this motor might be different than a typical 1987 motor. Can someone enlighten me?
Where is the badging on the motor? You can buy just individual parts like the valve covers but its possible that you may have a built up engine in there. Does it have the stock TPI or a super ram on it?
that has a LPE superram on it. they usually had
that intake which is way better, a cam , and heads or headwork done, but I would say drom the looks of that pic, it was stuff an owner put on, if you have LPE do it is VERY costly. they built the motor, and more.
maybe3 you have motor work and gears, and that is why it feels good!!
It's a shame to see it in that condition. I hope you can bring her back, to looking the way a vette should, espeacially that one.
Oh the reason you can't find much on it is because they only work on LT1 and up now I think.
There is a lot of info on
lingenfelter L98 motors on the net
Cool thanks for the info, I appreciate that. Yea it's crazy. The paint is immaculate other than some spider webbing but the interior and engine need some polish. The previous owner indicated it had the cam work so maybe this is the full deal. Now if I can just get my stupid starter issue fixed I'll be good to go for now! (posted in the tech forum about this, got great advice).
