1.) the eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28/ecms/ page talks about "repinning".
from the instructions the pinned leads are removed from one connector and relocated to another position of another connector, if i understand correctly. there is no mention of installing a new pin.
do i understand this correctly?
to me repinning means remove the old pin and install a new.
2.) what is the total amount of time for the repinning/splicing (assuming the harness is on a workbench, disregarding time to access the parts in the car)

I just converted from a 165 to a 730... took me about 4 hours.
The easiest way to do it if you are not goint to keep the ability to run the stock computer (like I did) is to re-pin. Remove the pins with the wires on them from the current connector and slip them into the new ones. Some people re-wire and call it re pinning. I did both.
