I am slowly deciphering the entire starter circuit but I need to know where this thing lives. So far I have determined that the neutral safety switch is functioning and so is the VATS and the ignition switch itself. Yet the starter will not crank. There is also no voltage drain when the key is in the "start" position. This tells me that either the starter interrupt relay is broken (not likely) or there is a bad connection or a damaged wire somewhere downstream.
Last question: does any wiring for the start circuit pass thru the gage cluster?
When I'm done figuring out this entire circuit I'm going to post a nifty color coded wiring diagram in the Tech Tips section.
Do you also realize you have a natural safety switch (automatic) or a Clutch petal safety switch (manual) in your car. Its possible it has gone bad or out of adjustment.
