Default ECM needed?

Ok. Do I need the ecm hooked up for anything if I am going to go to a carbureted motor. I am getting rid of the fuel injection. I am going to replace the l98 with a 355 that I have already built. I understand that I need a TV cable and a fuel pump. Is there anything else I need?

P.S. Look at the fore sale forum if you need any sensors or injection parts for the 85....Most of my stuff is new, I just cant figure this motor out!

Default vette

You may need a carb style distributor also.

Leave ECM to run gauges and speedo unless going analog gauges. Just remove redudant wiring leaving wires to sensors
Need non computer controlled dist; regular HEI
Can use 84 CFI low pressure intank pump
If auto ,need some means of controlling TCC lockup .Good T700 control info here

You can use a 84 CFI intank pump OR a aftermarket bypass regulator monted in the engine bay using the original return line

Do you also plan on going to mechanical brakes and crank start?

Geez....the TPI is an easy system to diagnose and repair, all it takes is a manual, a few inexpensive tools, and a systematic approach.

Well I didnt want to get that started.... Its not like I am going to a Ford engine or anything. I just dont have the money with a new child to be spending anymore trying to FIGURE OUT my TPI setup. So as I always say, you spend your money the way you want and I will do the same. Anyways, thanks to you guys that have been a help!

What size carb should I go with. The rebuilt motor has a slight cam (not much more than stock) and small dome pistons. Would a 700 double pump holley be too much?

Do you already have the 700? I have a 750 DP on a BBC and it fulfills its needs. May be a little big. Maybe jet it down a little bit.? Good luck.

Unless you are after all out performance a Vac secondary would be more suited to street driving and more economical considering your lack of $$$
