1993 Emission/PCV valve question
I just purchased a 1993 Corvette. I went to replace the pcv valve and unhooked it from passenger side valve cover. What I thought was the pcv valve turned out to be just a plastic elbow. I couldn't find a place that the valve might be on the other side of the engine. Would there be any reason someone would replace the valve with just an elbow or am I looking in the wrong place? There is also 2 small brass tubes coming out at an angle from the left and right front sides of the intake manifold. Niether are connected to anything but both look as if they had been at one time. I have to take the car to get it tested for emissions before I register it and I'm worried it might not pass if something is missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Do you have any idea what the 2 brass tubes might be?

Brass tubes - someone has done a throttle body bypass for the cooling system.
If you don't have any water leaks its OK to leave it alone.
For the PCV valve look for a very short rubber hose that seems to loop between the upper portion of the intake and the lower on the driver side.

I went and bought a cheap pack of large vacuum caps at the Zone to place on those tubes left by the tb bypass mod. Just looks better IMO.

if you do try and remove the PCV valve, be very careful as the small rubber hose (at least on our 94) is likely to be brittle a will break.
If it does, you'll need to go to the dealer to order a new one.

You're right. I looked at it and it does seem to be hard and brittle.
Thanks for the advice
