Hey guys i am going to get the money order tommaro what do you guys think? He said " 230/236 HR113, Lift is 0.544/0.554 with 1.6 rockers. Its inbetween the CC305 and the CC306." He said that it was run for about 15k miles? And he ran it in a stock corvette he ran 108mph when stock is 101mph?
Then what do you think i will run with this cam?
96 impala ss (iron heads)
complete rebuild 10:5 compression
3:73 posi
that cam w/ 1.6rr
high performance shift kit
3000 stall
well itis a used motor piece so... IMHO I would not want it considering the expensive part of a cam is install., but that is just me, it only takes a few minutes to mess it up.
will be better to get a cam and rockers though for sure.
good luck

If I remember correctly my custom cam was $300 shipped. It may work fine but I wouldnt chance it.
I have no clue but i was going to put some good springs in that can handel around .600 and then im going to send my computer in somewhere to get that tuned.
So do you guys think i should really save my money?
thanks

It is all about a package.
Was the cam in a similar spec engine to yours? Same heads/ driveline/etc
How did it run?
Just because it made 500Hp is someone else's engine doesn't mean it will do same in yours.
This is a "biggish" cam , but you have low gears and a stall so it "should" work OK.
You don't have to back out, but you really need to think it through, because a cam dictates intake, RR's then needs headers to breathe and so on.
I would say good deal, but again it has been driven for 15k, who knows if he broke it in riight, or changed oil???? anything?
that is why I would hesitate. you can find brand new cams people buy and never even install for like $200 and I have seen them less on sites in the past lately with economy trouble, and you will know exactly what you are getting and how to set it up.
I am sure that we sound like a drag, but for that price and miles no rush for me.

Roller cams don't have the wear or "running in" problems associated with flat tappet cams.I have pulled rollers from 100K+ engines showing little wear.
My primary concern is whether it suitable for his combo or could he do better
