air pump pulley delete help

If I just take the pulley off the air pump can I just run a shorter serpentine belt, & does anyone know what lenght belt to buy.

Depends on the year, from what I remember you can do that fine with an '84 but not other years.

I put TPiS's AIR delete on my Late '85 L98. After grinding my alternator case down to allow the bracket to lay down enough to let the alt bolt to work, the end result was I bought a new serpentine belt that was one inch shorter. They advertise that the original belt will work again but it was not the case with mine.
