Default 1991 Factory HP

Hello all. I'm sure I could find this easily through a google search, but I trust all of you much more. How do I determine if my '91 has the 245 HP or the 250 HP engine? I have the 2.59 rear axle if that helps.

Thanks in advance....

The mufflers...if both outlets flow, then its the 250.
If one outlet flows and the other is blocked off,its the 245.
(I think)

With a 2.59 gear I doubt all 4 muffler outlets work...

99% sure that with the 2.59 you got 245hp
the performance was 3.07 with better mufflers.= 250hp

When my 90 was stock, it came w/g44 (3.07 perf. gear), and supposedly the exhaust/mufflers for the "xtra 5 hp." and mine did not have both tips functional. If it was making a couple extra ponies I would bet it came from the "new piston" (raised the compression to 10.25:1) design for 90-91.
