edelbrock runners and base with speed density
I'ám new at this forum, and have a question about my 1990 C4.
I am going to put on a set of edelbrock runners and base.
I am running a speed density tpi and wonder if i have to change the programing of the ecm to compensate for the bigger airflow.

But there are people here with 90's who have changed the intake more than this and even changed cams (not anything huge though) that run perfectly with stock chips, in their opinion.
So to say you MUST change the chip program, we can't. You'll have to drive it and see.
On my 1990, I had the engine rebuilt and I put new intake runners (I think I bought the Arizona Speed ones) because the originals were dented. I have had no problem with regular driving, but have noticed that when I use full throttle and the rpms go to 3500, the vehicle looses power. If I back off the throttle slightly, it runs fine and continues to accelerate. I'm still trying to figure out all the variables and find out if it is the injectors, fuel pump, etc.
You won't know if you need a chip or not until you install everything and test it.
